I am a vessicular entity. This means I am a person who acts as a vessel. I carry and I birth. I hold, hold space for, encircle and encapsulate.
It took me years to learn that I wasn't a quitter, a never-finish-things kind of person. What I discovered was that I was a creator, a birther. I start things. I am systems oriented. I naturally recognize, assess and revamp or invent systems for life, for business, for home, for parenting, for healing, for whatever.
My gift is to set things in motion. Afterward, I let the participants carry it forward while I move on to the next birthing process. I even do this in my healing work. I hold space for clients to explore their difficult processes. Then I help them systematize their responses to create clarity, consistency and conscious responses where they used to have confusion and chaotic reactions.
Then, they leave my office to go out in the world and practice their new skills while I begin again with the next client.
I am deeply connected with The Mother, mother energy, etc. I am a mother, myself. I suppose my vessicular status is no coincidence. Mothers are the quintessential vessels and The Mother is the ultimate vessel.
It is nice to be able to forgive myself for the starts without finishes. I recognize the value I added to those experiences BECAUSE I started and stopped instead of finishing. Leaders have to get out of the way to allow their team to carry things forward, enacting the goals/duties with which we have charged them. If I had finished all those starts myself, what would my team have had for their experiences?
Cop out? Maybe. But I don't think so.
