Semi-Random Slightly Organized Thoughts Inspired By Life, A Love of Metaphors and
http://2weeksandcounting.blogspot.com/2009/04/catch-22.html
In an impassioned effort to actively and authentically love ourselves (and LIVE ourselves), we can rise up so high in our own Truth of Being that "that which is unnecessary" begins to fall away from us...like boosters from the rocket ship...like layers of onion...like a winter coat of soft, brown and muddied fur. Yes, "that" was necessary for a time. Perhaps "that" was even vital to our growth process. Now it is “dead weight” (an awful term) that cannot bear to exist in our expanding presence any longer. So, it exits stage left, leaving us alone in the burning spot-light.
In the sunshine of self-acceptance and the fire of self-advocacy, these things burn away and we are left standing in the ashes. It hurts for a time. But spring is near. Green shoots of new life will push up through the ashes and we will breathe again. In fact, spring is EVERYWHERE. And, choosing to breathe NOW in the winter of our experience will quickly reveal the spring, the new life that sits quietly under the ashes we tend to keep in our focus.
The exhilaration and acceleration we crave for all of our "selves" comes with the (r)evolution of our "self" understanding.
"Just trust yourself. You will know what to do." They say this as if they do not see all the “selves” that I am, standing at the edge of my experience, waiting to be called forth. “Yes, but which ME do I trust?!?!” Red rover, red rover.... Egads. Discovering the many points of view inside this ONE me is a pokey, painful process. I am still pulling the thorns out of my bottom after all these months. I used to say “I am my own worst pain in the ass.”
The part of self-understanding that we can often fail to notice is the standing. Don’t just do something! Stand there. We get to avoid the noise in our heads and hearts if we so choose. And, we get to careen out of control across the bumpy, sharp surfaces of painful negative thoughts…a wild ride in a wagon that has lost its driver and its horses. We also get to stand still, listening to the silence and the noise that we find in our heads, in our hearts. And, we get to choose how we navigate the rocky terrain, arriving wherever and whenever we like—to some degree. Either choice brings the silence of standing still. However, one does involve more crashing and burning parts than the other.
Here’s something else to consider: “Taking responsibility when the shift hits the fan, means taking ownership of your results. Accepting responsibility sucks the wind out of the critical voices, including the ones in your head. Nothing will free you from the past and help you move forward faster than taking responsibility for your life NOW.” Pasted from <http://www.intent.com/blog/2009/03/24/when-shift-hits-fan>
Namasté, Y’all. More later.
In light and love,

Love your blog! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteAh..Spring,indeed. Ya never know what kind of weeds you have till you pull them! Looking through old treasure boxes,as in Spring Cleaning,is sometimes useful,sometimes a P in the A too. This lovely thing,a gift from a departed friend,C.B.E.,came to light in such a snooping and digging about activity:
ReplyDelete"Out deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant,gorgeous,talented,and fabulous?
Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve te world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine,as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us;it's in everyone.
As we let our own light shine,we give other people permission to do the same;as we're liberated from our own fear, our Presence automatically liberates others.
I'm glad to see you blogging,Taj!A nice way to get to know you from this 20 mile distance..;>}
Luv Ya,Kid!
